Nordic Bears are an initiative to co-ordinate, strengthen and promote Bear culture and community in the Nordic region and beyond!
The idea is to connect local Nordic Bear groups and associations so that they can work together and help create the feeling of community within and between the Nordic countries.

We have created a “Nordic Bear Portal” to make it easier for Bears and tourists to find the Bear and LGBT communities in the Nordic region in one place – including those which are not on Facebook or in other social media.

We try to assist newly-started Bear associations – helping them grow, search for funds and share knowledge and experience.

We try to give special emphasis to Bear culture – with art, music, photography, films, literature and poetry – illustrating the diversity in the Nordic region.

We try to promote contacts and exchanges between Bears – especially with colleagues in the Baltic states and also beyond the Nordic zone in Eastern Europe. We try to promote tourism and visitors to Bear events, and encourage new members.

The Nordic Bear team has  representatives in all Nordic nations (see the website). We are especially interested in finding representatives for Sápmi, Latvia and Lithuania. If you know some one there, let us know!
